Core Committees

 


These committees operate all year and are involved in the day-to-day activities of the school.

  • This committee involves all the ways we get information out to our parents/guardians. This includes maintaining our Facebook page, PTA website, weekly/monthly email newsletter and bulletin boards both inside and outside the school.  


  • This committee schedules many of our school assemblies. Volunteers discuss assembly ideas, coordinate times with Dr. Parrott and are responsible for planning, scheduling, set-up and take down of the assemblies

  • This committee works to ensure Oak Ridge PTA and school are promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all students and their families.


  • This committee runs our major yearly fundraiser, the Fun Run which consists of planning the event, organizing prizes, promoting the event and day of activities. This committee is also responsible for Restaurant Nights, Store Rewards, Skate Night.

  • The Green Team is dedicated to instilling socially responsible ideals in our children by making environmentally sound choices a part of everyday life. This committee includes our lunch recycling/composting program. Other activities included plastic bag recycling, marking recycling, mulch/compost sales.

  • This committee’s goal is to educate students, parents, and staff about healthy lifestyle choices. This committee has included our lunch Noon Walkers program in the past and Unplugged Week activities, as well as writing an article for the PTA monthly newsletter.
